| Seeing local ads in another city

Forgive me if this has been answered, but I searched and could not find anything. Any ideas about how I can see local results for another city. What I am really looking to do is to be able to surf Yahoo and Google as though I live in another city so I can see how both the local search results and the geo targeted ads affect the SERPs. I can find plenty of info programs that will hide my IP by country, but I was looking to be able to get down to the city level.

HML, if memory serves me, I once read a post by someone somewhere who claimed he had arranged access to a number of "IP/geo localized proxy servers" that allowed him to view SERPs, ads, etc. "as a local would see the WWW".

You can append the search query with =?#*$! where #*$! is the three digit number assigned by google to the DMA... I have a list in print only, not on a PC. I'm sure you can google it.
