I was looking at some new venues to promote my business site.
None of my competitors from around the country had tried any of these methods. In fact one of the major benefits has been that the industry is not really web smart. As a result my site, representing a single business in a single metro market was able to obtain strong national rankings for the most important keywords, and more importantly strong regional serps results.
Its interesting that few SEM's advertising agencies have aggressively attacked this. It would be relatively easy to repeat processes in different markets for the same type of business. Increased understanding of the industry would lead to increased effective marketing, optimization, keyword selection, etc.
To date the only penetration I see in this area are a proliferation of some reasonably effective vertical or industry specific directories.
