zsh is better Replace bash if you use the console at all. graeme_p msg:4286261 1:56 pm on Mar 23, 2011 (gmt 0) I think I said it. I just switched my shell from Bash to zsh and it is much better. Spelling correction, spelling correction in tab completion, suggest corrected command names, and expanded glob matching that I have not got to grips with yet.

Thanks for the hint graeme_p. I have taken the route sh->csh->ksh->bash in my history since I started with BSD in the eighties and have been too long on bash already. graeme_p msg:4287255 9:19 am on Mar 25, 2011 (gmt 0)
One thing to be ware of are any shell scripts that are run on login or to setup a terminal. I had to edit one manually.
