I'm having trouble getting wget to talk to https://siteuptime.com. I've got a nagios probe that has been functioning fine for the last 6 months. Last week it stopped working. The reason i have discovered is because when wget returns the error "Unable to locally verify the issuer's authority." when attempting to download "https://siteuptime.com/...". The certificate checks out fine on all other machines. Any idea what could course this?

The problem is probably with the certificate, but for a short-term fix have you tried using the option
--no-check-certificate to bypass the check?
