msg:3649431 | 5:20 am on May 14, 2008 (gmt 0) | You should be able to find some simple command-line sample apps to do this if you poke around the documentation for ALSA and/or the various higher-level libraries for working with ALSA. I wrote a pair of interfaces between ALSA and text-to-speech and speech-to-text libraries a while back. I don't have the code, though, as it was done on contract. I do recall that I used one of these wave-generating sample apps as a starting-point for the text-to-speech interface.
