I have kubuntu 7.10 32bit, my production mointor is a wide screen standing on one edge, nice n tall.

I have manged to get kubuntu to rotate 90 degrees using this line in the xorg.conf file

Option "RandRRotation" "on"

Only problem now is, theres a portion of screen missing on th eright and a big black chunk of space below as it holds the screen sizes it started out with?

I read you could chamge the 'modes' from

Modes "280x1024@60" "1400x1050@60""1280x960@60"
"1152x864@75""1024x768@43""1024x768@60""1024x768@70"
"1024x768@75""1024x768@85""832x624@75""800x600@60"
"800x600@85""800x600@75""800x600@72""800x600@56"
"640x480@85""640x480@75""640x480@72""640x480@60"

To this

Modes"nvidia-auto-select"

Now, nobody on the kubuntu forum has offered any sound advice, first, is that line of code OK (I don't want a blackout) secondly, could you just code in the sizes you wanted it to be as a single option?
