| vim: don't show last file edited above shell prompt

msg:3547591 | 8:54 am on Jan 14, 2008 (gmt 0) | hi, on our new server, everytime i exit from vim, the last file remains on my screen above the shell prompt. on our previous one it disappeared and i was able to see my last commands. i can't find any setting in .vimrc which is different. does anyone know how to disable this? many thanks

msg:3547661 | 12:51 pm on Jan 14, 2008 (gmt 0) | Hi, I believe it depends more on your terminal characteristics and termcap than on any particular vi[m] settings. Just type 'clear' or the equivalent at the shell, or use your terminal's 'clear scrollback' feature if leaving stuff on the screen is a problem. Rgds Damon
