Which config files do I need to edit in order to enable regular ftp on my server. Currently it only accepts sftp.

It depends on your ftp server. Unfortunately, there is no universal advice for this.

Unless you are offering files via FTP to the anonymous public, I wouldn't do it, though - and even then, I would make sure it is set up for downloads only.

Many hosts actually won't permit FTP or especially Telnet, because they are quite insecure. You are much better-off using SFTP for uploading your files.
