Link from bbc.co.uk (twice removed)

 1:23 pm on May 13, 2011 (gmt 0)

Long story short:

1) Friend is doing a world record attempt. bbc.co.uk/sport have written about it and linked to the blog.

2) Friends wife is a graphic designer and worked on promo material for the event, so naturally blog links to her portfolio site.

3) Ive been helping friends wife with updates to her portfolio site as a favour. She said i can add a link to my folio if i wish. I wasnt going to do this initially as the code quality is not something i would want to be associated with, but with the link juice flowing from the bbc, i am having second thoughts.

Any input appreciated. Am i to far removed in the chain to make it worth while?

Thanks WebmasterWorld. Been a while...

Credit links lost their punch for helping you rank about seven years ago. Supposedly just a fraction of the PR may pass. One link from the BBC isn't a tonic anyway. It's good for the receiver but don't expect much after that.

Cost: $0. Benefit: >=0

What's to lose? Take the link.

If you don't want the link, I'll take it....

well I realise one decent link isnt going to solve any problems - im not really worried about SEO on the whole anyway, but the chain from bbc to me interested me. So i think im going to go with Wheel (when i have sorted the horrible code that is required as the favour :(

edit: to clarify, my post was really related to wether the link value was worth anything, as i dont want to be associated to with a very badly coded site

Planet13 beat me to it.
Don't overthink, take the link.
