I'm working on promoting a site for a national sporting event (annual championship tournament). I expect to contact every club I can find and ask for a link.
Any other thoughts on building links to the site?
Also, my plan is to offer web sponsorships. The sponsorship will include a full page of sponsor-provided content along with some inline links if they're so inclined.
This is an annual event, so I got the domain from the club that held the event last year. My intention is to archive their current site under a '2010' link on the new site (same domain). then next year, I hope that the club holding the event will archive our site under a 2011 link, keep the domain and move on.
Thoughts on that process? How to add value for web sponsors?
