What Google shows you does not represent what Google has indexed.

What Google shows you does not represent what Google has indexed. See this thread for more information [webmasterworld.com]. ;) Good luck.

As Roger stated... Neither the LINK: operator NOR Google's Webmaster Tools will show you all of your inbound links... Both only show a "sample" of your inbound links.

I think it's getting harder and harder to get indexed the articles in these so called article directories. You should probably try to ping these URLs and see what happens

I know I only have 3 posts at this forum, as of this writing, but I know a lot about article directories and how Google, Yahoo and Bing index the articles that are published to them. The directory you mentioned above is notorious for not showing up in the backlink checker tools. Whether they are counted or not, nobody can really say. I do a lot of article marketing and watch thousands of articles ranking in the SEs every day. That being said, I do not submit to that directory. Good luck and keep writing! Allen

I've submited to about 60 article directories about 2 weeks ago. About 6 show up as indexed. The real number I dont' know but I expect about 10%. There just aren't that many article directories out there... Does anybody have a list of article directories that: A. DO PUBLISH B. Are still ONLINE C. Get indexed D. Are Do Follow Cheers!

I don't think we can list individual URLs. Just do a google search for "Article directory" and check out the first couple of pages. If they are ranking for "article directory", odds are that google will include them in their backlink (whether you see them in WM Tools or not). Allen

When you mean the links are not indexed do you mean: 1. The link itself does not show up in GWT, link:, or by other means or 2. The page where the linked is placed is not indexed? Aside from Google only showing you a sample, use the site: operator for the page where the link is placed. If that page is indexed then your link is also being indexed. This is true unless the cached version of the page is from before the link was placed. I'm new to the forums but I hope that helped. -George
