Case Study: New Site, Aiming For Top 3

Hello community

I wish to share my experiences with this forum as I have learned so much from others here. Yesterday I launched a new website, so lets get started and explain my strategy...

- I already have a site that ranks top 3 for "widgets blue", the search volume is low around 500 searches per month, this new site I plan to get ranked primarily for the word "widgets" without the "blue", for the word "widgets" the search volume is huge (in comparison) around 30,000 to 50,000 searches per month depending on the season.

- The new site is just 3 pages on launch, the plan is to quickly grow the site to 500 pages then to a few thousand pages. Quite a lot of this content will be unique, which I already have its just a case of publishing it online

- I plan to work on link building straight away, and will start with fairly low level links as my content is not good enough yet to hit the big authority sites in my niche, that will come later as my content becomes good enough to use as link bait.

- The site will be non-profit informative in style, which should help with links from commercial sites in my niche. After I get it ranked top 3 (if I can!) I will then make revenue from affiliating schemes with others in my niche who dont rank so high.

so thats it for now, I will be going off now to expand the content, I plan to add twenty pages today over the next 3 to 4 hours, and will update this thread on my progress throughout
