Can you recommend me a strategy for building links for a product review site. It's not a newsworthy site, the content isn't something really unique, it really is a site that gathers information on many products and then summarizes it.
I haven't been into SEO for quite some time, so I don't know how things are these days.
A few years back when I was doing SEO, I used to just buy links from text-link-ads and it worked like a charm. I'm hearing I should actually stay away from such links these days...
One way to think of the link development process is to consider who your audience is and were on the web they are congregating. Then go out and obtain links from those sites.
absolutely; respond to questions on forums through content rich posts and routinely link forum members to reviews that specifically answer their questions. just remember to write a long post in response that segues into your link; some forums may allow this activity; some may not to deter spammers. if you do this across several well viewed forums you could build some targeted traffic to your site rather quickly.
