I was looking in to this aspect and found it can generate backlinks but I was going through Google AdSense for feeds and created some feeds but later I noticed that it changes the feed entries target url to something like: [feedproxy.google.com...] feed name] Now the question is - can this feed generate backlinks?

if you regularly create content that attracts votes from social media platforms, if you are able to promote your content to the popular sections of these sites - digg, su, reddit, active users will subscribe to your feed, so they could be the 1st one to submit your content to the social media platform(s) of his/her choice. every time you get promoted to the popular section or when interested webmasters see your submissions, they'll link back to your site.
