Have you tried searching for 'directory + [your local area]' in Google, Yahoo! etc.? If you can't find any relevant directories by searching in Google or Yahoo! (or maybe Live) then the directories you are looking for probably aint worth anything when it comes to linkbuilding.

Hi, We don't encourage lists of directories nor promote websites that feature lists of directories. I think a better approach may be to think about the niche and ask why would a site link to it. Take a look at competitors, as well as non-competitors in other markets. Take a look at who is advertising on PPC and see what their backlinks look like. Before you start, come to an understanding of what your tolerance of risk is because you will likely find websites engaging in the kind of link building that may not pass a hand check.

>>>I am very new at this If you're new I recommend going through our library so as to catch up on different link building techniques. Go back, way back. Even some of the discussions from four years ago are still relevant. It'll help build a solid footing for your approach. [webmasterworld.com...]
