Is viral type linking becoming more dangerous?

Example : your site has - "copy and paste this code to share this page with your friends" + a box that has easy to copy link info.

A visitor likes the page, copies the code and inserts it into a post of his in a completely unrelated forum. Multiply that by 10 people a week.

Potential long term problems?

To my eyes, that is smart online marketing, and as I'm sure you know, has been recommended by experts in the field for years now. If Google doesn't like it for whatever reason, then it should simply be ignored by them, not in any way penalized.

It's just that people probably aren't going to do it unless there is some motivation or benefit to them. Besides isn't the likes of stumbleapon doing this type of thing better now.

I'll amend my earlier statement by totally agreeing with you about that.
