1001: new post   Webmasters Ponder: Do we have a Google Update? Care to Dance?
It is hard to say what is or isn't an update these days. However, there have been many underlying infrastructure changes (how Google produces and uses an index). There have also been many simple algo dial and knob tweaking changes. This set of cumulative progressions with the Google index has many believing it is time to call it an old fashioned dance.

Matt Cutts confirmed at Boston PubCon that Google with radically change the process used to spider pages. Caching will be implimented on the spider and thus reducing the requests that Googlebot will be required to make of a page.
