642: new post   How To Move Part of an Established Site to a New Domain
I intend to move one language of this website onto a new domain. I was thinking to do 301 redirects from all old pages to all new pages and of course update the sitemaps accordingly. This way, Google should understand that my pages changed location and will index the new ones. But, it will probably exclude my webpages from SERPs, at least for a period.[br][br]How can I do this move, in order to make it as painless as possible for my site?

Six weeks after getting penalized by Google Inc. for using promotional links with university web sites that boosted its natural search rankings, Overstock.com Inc. says the penalty, a drop in its Google natural search rankings, has resulted in a 5% drop in revenue, according to the retailer's filing toay with the Securities and Exchange Commission. [br][br]"We now estimate that it will be at least another two to three weeks before Google will end the penalty period," Overstock says in the filing. "During the penalty period to date, we have experienced an approximately 5% negative impact on our revenue, which we anticipate will continue during the penalty period."

Of the half dozen pages, three were slightly above their pre-Panda level (year-over-year) on Monday, and three were around 20% under. The average Google traffic for the six pages Monday was around 250 visitors each.
