"Technically, instant preview is a visually cached copy and any site set to NOARCHIVE is currently being violated because it's making and displaying archives of the site. The same reasons you don't want people looking at your cache, such as correcting pricing mistakes, taking down content that violated copyright, whatever, the reason you don't want cache and snoops evaluating it still apply with instant preview."

488: new post   Google WT Wants Links From Sponsored WordPress Themes Removed
Some 2+ years ago in throws of questionable wisdom I sponsored about 5 or 6 WordPress themes where the "Designed by" link in the footer gets replaced by a link to your site. They were nice looking and "relevant" themes, at least as far as the name and pictures used in design suggest. They were not used much initially and I did not think much of them until these "unnatural links" notices started flying a month ago.

As you know, Webmaster Tools lists links pointing to your site in two separate categories: links coming from other sites, and links from within your site. Today's update won't change your total number of links, but will hopefully present your backlinks in a way that more closely aligns with your idea of which links are actually from your site vs. from other sites."
