Setting Location for Estimated Searches in the Google Keyword Tool

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has been answered before but I've tried performing a search for this and couldn't find anything which answered my specific question.

I want to get the estimated number of searches on google.com for specific keywords using Google's Keyword Tool.

Am I right in thinking that I need to set "Locations and languages" to be "All countries" and then the google.com results will be in the "Global Monthly Searches" column? What difference does specifying a language do in this scenario?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm now thinking that if I specify the country to be UK I will get data which is for people in the UK using google search (google.com when in the UK, google.co.uk when in the UK, etc) in the "Local Monthly Searches" column and then in the "Global Monthly Searches" column I will receive data on people in all countries using all different types of google search (google.es, google.fr, google.com, google.co.uk, etc).

Is that correct?

@jbullet , that's correct. Global Monthly Searches column shows traffic in all countries and all languages.
