I'm a bit disappointed lately with the inaccuracy of keyword tools. I read some old threads but most were dated back when overture was still in use.
Personally, I think the Google keyword tool is, for the most part, useless. I'll sometimes use it for comparisons but even those numbers never seem to be correct. While it may show thousands of results, you end up with 0 clicks. The UK specified data is inflated to the point where it makes me want to get in the domain market for UK domains...and just resell them.
After a recent purchase of a domain name near 7 figures I've been messing around with a couple tools. I've always found keyword discovery (the free) version to be the most accurate. The numbers usually tend to represent daily hits for first position...at least for the keywords I rank for. We purchased this domain via our own analytics from a site we own that is similar in a way which is how we valued it etc.
Oddly enough, the keyword discovery "paid version" I find to be absolute garbage. The numbers don't seem to reflect the "free version" either.
I've read praise about keywordtracker and just signed up but am having CC issues so haven't tested the paid version out. If I recall, the free version was shenanigans anyways.
I've ruled Google/keywords out for keyword data. Keyword discovery seems the best option via unpaid, but only in the purchased version does it have multi-country stats, but what use is it if they are inaccurate.
Am I missing a tool out there that has multi-country, multi-lingual data that you guys find the most useful? Ever since overture stopped I kind of went by my gut for keywords.
