I understand with dashes once can search for keywords in different order.

What if my keyword has a space in it like

real estate

or

New York

Should I use underscores in this case?

If I do a Google search for

New_York

Google hints me:

Did you mean: New York

There is clearly a difference.
Even capitals seems to make a difference, looking at the search results..

Hi tunafish...

If I was using it as a url I would probably do /new_york.htm but if it was just words on a page I would write it normally. Does that help at all?

We put - to separate 2 words. For eg if u search Realestate together it will through error in Google. To keep that in mind we use - in our URL eg abc.com/real-estate
