adwords tool - average search volume vs. search volume in february
extreme differences that don't make sense

Hi,

I typed in Spanish language and learn Spanish and the average search volume shows as e.g. 300,000 (for Spanish language), whereas the search volume in february shows as 60,000.

This is something that's true across the board (for all kinds of related keywords...other languages than Spanish, too).

I know the keyword data is just to be seen as relative and all, but such differences make me wonder what's going on. Why in the world would 5-10 times as many people search for a generic topic like that in months other than February?

What's wrong with this? When Google started showing those numbers I heard from a few sources that the numbers seemed to be fairly good and never really off by more than two-fold or so. I didnt really trust that, though I was hoping it was true, but now what the heck is this mess?:-)

chose exact match now and the volumes are on par.... didnt know that it would show broad match for one and exact match for the other if one didnt change it to exact match.....
