In my Firefox browser there is a built in Google search box in the upper right. Maybe it's how I set it up, but when I start typing a keyword a dropdown list appears of all the most likely searches I could be performing. It doubles as a handy way to find out what searches are most common beginning with widgets....

You can use tools like Wordtracker, Overture, Google adwords suggestion and Keyword discovery to find popular related keywords for an industry eg. if you enter widget, you get a list of keywords related to widget.
There are intelligence tools that can let you see the keywords that send traffic to particular websites. eg. Hitwise, Trellian Competitive intelligence, Webwatcher etc.
