What do you consider a great niche keyword/field? Makaveli2007 msg:3287658 8:37 pm on Mar 20, 2007 (gmt 0) Assumptions:
- It has average business/aff. marketing/adsense potential (not bears or butterflies or something)
- You know the topic enough to actually create content about it
- the #1 ranking site has about 300 backlinks
I know, I know..I'm a bit too thorough lol but I'm really just curious what other webmasters' expectations are as I don't know any other webmasters/online marketers in person...
How high would the search volume per month have to be to you, so you'd consider it a great niche?

I really donít think that I aim that high:
Between 3000 and 15000 searches a month
With up to 15 million results in Google. Also has to have a high payout for each lead/sale/click/referal, etc.
Then it depends on how relevant and authoritive the sites that appear are. If they are a bunch of myspace profiles, obviously I fancy my chances.
I suppose there are guys here that wouldn't get out of bed for less than 50,000 searches a month.
What does it take to interest you?

I'm not sure about that, yet, that's why I was asking to see what other people consider a good keyword ^^ (but I see, that it's hard to tell because long tails have better conversion rates..and some might sell high ticket items, whereas others can only make a few bucks..)
