hello,

I am not sure what is it called exactly, but I am looking to do something similar to facebook page scrolling.

eg; by default facebook loads x number of updates/posts, and when you scroll far bottom, it automatically loads more posts in the same page, how can I get this effect for my own site?

thanks for the help in advance

Try searching the web for "javascript loading content while scrolling".

Analyze the scripts, look how they work.

Theoretically it's rather simple:
- detect when user scrolls and reaches the bottom of the page (with some padding for flexibility)
- load the appropriate content using an ajax call
- append it to the content

Yea, as alias said, just google "javascript loading content while scrolling" :
- The first result is an exemple of server side implementation ( in java )
- The second result is a jQuery plugin for the client side.

Nothing really hard there, only a little ajax pagination
