| jquery make text appear

Hello,
I have never really used jquery but what I have is a flash map with clickable states. I want contact information to show up when someone clicks on a state, and each state is different. So I want the map, and someone clicks a state and next to the map the contact details of the seller in that state shows up. Any idea how I do this?

One option would be to look into the jqueryui (user interface) and modal dialog windows.
