Yes. I'm not certain what version of DW but it was bundled in the most recent CS* distribution from Adobe and failed so often on Windows 7 64-bit that the developer ended up using Eclipse for development and ditching DW because of lost work.

I wish I had the luxury to replace my DW - I'm currently looking at open source editors because the frustration and loss of work is getting to me.

She became so frustrated she had no choice. I was asked to try and help analyze and figure out the issue, but came up empty. You are right, all the online docs and support were of no help. I was actually beginning to wonder if it wasn't an OS issue as opposed to DW issue.

Well DW worked fine on XP - never crashed once - I've only been having this problem since I got W7. I hope DW brings out a fix soon. Any suggestions on open source programs that might work?

For an IDE I use Eclipse exclusively. I don't use a GUI for layout development so if you need an application for that you might check out some of the open source software to supplement, like Kompozer.

maybe this is because DW8 it's old for the platform windows 7. And it's not compatible at all. I suggest you to try DW cs2 minimum for w7, i'm using cs5 version it's version 11 build 4964, and i dont have issues. Because this version is full compatible with w7 64 bits, i'm on w7 ultimate 64 bits.
