Alternatives to Dreamweaver
for Mac
too much information

Does anyone have an alternative to Dreamweaver (something not made by Adobe?)

I'm having so much trouble with the Dreamweaver FTP that I'm done with the program. I need something that color codes my scripts and will auto-upload on save like Dreamweaver. Also something with a similar file manager would be nice too.

Other than that I could throw out all of Dreamweaver's other features. It was a much better program before Adobe bought Macromedia but there has to be another option.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I switched to Mac not that long ago and the incredibly slow FTP synch is the one thing that I hate about DW. I never had that problem on Windows and seemingly Adobe is not interested or does not know how to fix that problem.

I'll be keeping my eye on this thread, maybe there's something better out there, I don't know...

I guess nobody has any suggestions. I like TextWrangler and I have played with BBEdit in the past but I wasn't happy with the FTP integration.

Does anyone use those and if so could you give some tips on your FTP process?

Other software suggestions are welcome also.

I use Aptana Studio. I don't use the built-in FTP feature but I'm pretty sure it does what you want.
