Looking for a quick and simple and free editor

Hi all - I'm looking for a quick and simple editor for clients to be able to edit their content with a login (and nothing else, so it has to support things like editable areas). I've seen WebEdit for example, which does exactly what I want - login to your site, select your file, edit its text content, maybe add an image, save and bingo. Except it costs a lot. Does anyone know of anything like webedit that is open source?

cheers

frank

Have you checked out the options at opensourcecms.com? It provides user comments and demos.

Sounds like what you are after is a rich text editor. Some free ones around if you try a search on Google.

Maybe try FCKeditor. I haven't used it personally yet but I heard it's decent. It's also distributed under several different licenses so you will probably be able to get what you need.

Have a look at openWYSIWYG at here [openwebware.com]. I use this on a couple of my sites and it works well for me.
