Dreamweaver 8 - New layer in template
New layers in template affect layers in editable region in other pages

 10:41 am on Feb 14, 2008 (gmt 0)

Have changed from Dreamweaver mx to Dreamweaver8. This was never a problem in MX.
I create a template in design view using layers. They are automatically numbered from 1 onwards.
I then create a page (call it "mypage") based on that template and insert further layers in the editable region.
I then change the template, adding a new layer. This layer then changes the new layer that i created on "mypage". Move the layer on the template and it moves on "mypage"
I think it might be because say I have layer 1- 5 in the template and then create a layer on "mypage", it numbers it 6, but then if I go back to the template and add a new layer it calls this 6 as well - I think!
Anywya round this? If I insert a layer in code so i can give it a different Number (eg7) it doesn't seem to be draggable in design view.

Help would be appreciated

Ok got it sorted.
Have to go into code view, rename the layer and rename it in the style sheet as well
