Do you mean a drop down menu as opposed to a search? If so you would be better using a ready made script. There are many of these available but you still need to know what you are doing. Try this, [google.co.uk...]

Welcome to WebmasterWorld I am not pretty sure what you mean by drop search , but you might by thinking of drop menus , just google javascript drop menu and you will get the code which you need to put on website for making drop menu i am sorry if this is what you are not looking for may be you need to explain it bit better Welcome once again enjoy
