Hi friends,

I've an important question about programming IDE/ editor.
I'm using HomeSite+ since many years and I liked this editor very much.

Recent months, I heard that one editor Eclipse is becoming popular, supports many programming languages.

Also, HomeSite development is stopped now and they're not releasing further versions. So should I switch to Eclipse now? { I already spent quite time in friendship with HomeSite+ :¦ }

Other thing is that what about Linux OS editors: one of my friend working in Yahoo! says that he has been using simplistic and mere VI editor only. I would like same editor I can use both in Windows and Linux, just as PHP can be used with Apache whether on Windows or Linux.

Please suggest.
