How to solve colored area in header with mobile version?

background-image: url("../images/header1.jpg");

It will nice background color header at the top. Issue is how to deal with colored areas inside header within responsive designs as this will be seen obscured when using navbar-toggle which is defined as button to see all links but they are colored when toggled. As navbar-toggle will not work table layouts it is an issue how to hide color of links.

Maybe somebody has solution.Need help.
