|Embedding Adobe After Effects (AEP) into HTML|
can it be done?

Questions in the title really.
I've read somewhere that the Adobe After Effects file must first be converted to .swf or .flv, but this was literally all it said and I can't find any other information on Google.

Adobe's own website has several pages about the conversion to Flash process. The "export" option is part of After Effects itself - for example, see Render and export a composition as a SWF file [help.adobe.com]
