Resizing a Form button in Chrome
Text is off centre

If ever I try to resize a form button, the text goes off centre in Chrome and IE. In Firefox it looks fine.
Is there anyway to fix this?

The standard method to overcome problems of this sort is to add extra spaces at the start and end of the caption.

For starters, I'm trying to make it smaller. And second, even if I was trying to make it bigger, adding spaces would then break the centring in Firefox.

For starters, you could have said you wanted to make the button smaller.
And second, adding spaces to both start and end of a caption should never break centering.

You could try playing with CSS but in my experience, interpretation when applied to controls such as buttons and edit boxes can vary significantly. Probably you should forget about this and move on to the next problem.
