Internet Explorer 9 will only support H.264 codec
Same markup to work in different browsers? Maybe with Internet Explorer 10.

Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer 9 will use the patent strangled H.264 codec exclusively.

Remember, in 2016 if your business site utilizes this "standard" video codec expect a bill from MPEG LA or else they will sue you and because of the probable ties to the entertainment industry probably your grandmother too.
