Hi all. Trying to send an HTML email via Gmail (Well, Google Business Apps) and having a few issues.
I've created a nice HTML template for our Sales Rep to use in communications with clients. The email displays fine in most readers, and is fairly simple and degrades nicely to text. It does have one image in the HTML, which is our logo and is being pulled from our server via the IMG src attribute (i.e. it's not an attachment to the email).
So, I am trying to think of an easy way for our Sales guy to use the template in Google Business Apps email. Cut and paste of the HTML text into the editor results, predictably, in the literal HTML being placed. Copying and pasting the 'web' version of the email (i.e. previewing it in a browser, then hitting ctrl-a) seems to work, but this is a bit of a workaround and a bit 'hackish'...
I've tried installing the 'Canned Response' lab item, which allows you to save HTML templates, but when I try to use the template, the image is broken as it appears that the src attribute is being stripped for some reason when saved as a canned response. Ugh.
So, anyone successfully sending html template based message from GMail, and if so, how?
