Javascript display contained in <div>
Any reason to declare height and width?

I'm placing some Adsense javascript code in a <div>. The javascript declares a height and width of the ad.

Is there any advantage to declaring a height and width for the containing <div> also, in regards to how the page loads?

(Such as, a defined space is set aside for the Adsense unit and the rest of the page continues to render even though the download of the Adsense javascript hasn't been completed yet? - Similar to how declaring height and width for an image tag is an advantage.)

Thanks.
