AOL explorer vs IE 7

Is AOL explorer and IE7 the same browser? From what I can tell with scripting, AOL is IE but acts differently than IE6.

I've been telling myself they are the same. This way I can keep IE6 for testing and use AOL to test IE7. IE browsers comprise %75 of my visitors. More than %50 of that %75 are now IE7 so I guess I should nail this down.

I am not sure if this is any help, but on AOL's download page, this is what they list as minimum requirements for downloading AOL 1.5:

Minimum Internet Explorer Version: 6.0 OS: Windows 2000 or higher (Recommended XP) RAM: 64 MB (Recommended 128 MB) Hard Disk Space: 60 MB Processor: 166 MHz Pentium Class processor (Recommended 700 MHz)
