Good Safari Emulator for PCs?
Without requiring cygwin

Does a Safari emulator exist for PCs? I'm reading about solutions that require cygwin but I'm trying to stick to a single app, not a whole Linuxy emulated environment.

I'm not aware of a software emulator - there are a couple of websites that will send/display screenshots of your site as rendered by Safari...

If you have an OSX install disc/image, you can use this:

Yeah, this seems tougher than it is.

I know of browsershots.org, but the wait time has been considerably longer lately.

Unfortunately, I don't have an OSX disc or image. I sold my iBook awhile ago. :(

You may find this recent thread interesting/helpful, on which Browsers people currently test in...
[webmasterworld.com...]

And to quote a couple of relevant points from that thread:

encyclo... Safari: I don't own a Mac, so most testing is in Konqueror with final verification on a borrowed machine. There's rarely any difference.

Testing for Safari is the hardest to achieve unless you're a Mac user, as the only way is to buy or borrow a Mac. However Konqueror is virtually identical (Safari is based on Konqueror's khtml core), and testing is easy with a live-CD of a KDE-based Linux distro.

SuzyUK... No Mac either but Safari Support is so similar to FF it hasn't really been a problem

Interesting statements about Konqueror. I actually do have a Linux box and I viewed the site in Konqueror and it looked nothing like the Safari screenshot I was given. I know Safari is based on Konqueror, but the page in question rendered *horribly* on Konqueror whereas it looked fine on Safari after a few tweaks.
