Dropping drop shadows
Google's rebranding
limbo

The change to SERP's is being well reported - [googleblog.blogspot.com...] - however there's another change notable for those interested in branding, and logo design.

Google are dropping their drop shadow (Well, they've nearly dropped it).

I suppose it's an improvement. Armin says better than I ever could here:

[underconsideration.com...]

it is indeed an improvement and the change demonstrates how easy it is to get accustomed to something that isnít quite as pleasant as it could be but the familiarity of it makes it seem pleasant.

Shame they didn't go the whole hog and drop it all-together. Would love to see it 'in the clear', no shadows, no bevels...

Here's more from the horses mouth: [googleblog.blogspot.com...]
