I need to put a live web cam or time lapse video on a site. Would both of these be considered streaming video? Where is a good server that I can use to host this kind of site?

Do you have any suggestions as to the best kind of web cam to use? the live video feed is going to be of an office setting. The camera doesn't need to be able to zoom in to close, just needs to show the activity in the office.

I'm not sure yet if there is going to be a live chat window along with the video, but I know how to handle that I think.

one idea I have.

An idea I had for the site is to make it a blog, and then use a digital camera along with a memory card that has the capability to send pictures wirelessly to the web. I just recently heard that this kind of card is available, although I can't remember what the card is called exactly.

To take the time lapse photos,I thought I can set the camera up to take pictures at regular intervals and have them posted wirelessly to a blog or site.

Would this idea work? If you have any suggestions please help.

Or, if this won't work, I'll use a web cam and have a live feed.

Ive looked at stickam.com,and I set me up a free account there. When I embed the interface, I guess its called, on my site, my cams video feed doesn't show up. But when I access my account page at stickam and turn my cam on, it shows up as long as I view it from my account page at stick cam. could the problem be that Im on shared hostibg and they may not allow embeded cam feeds on their servers,Ive been told that even though someone else hosts the feed and you just have it embeded on a second server that the feed still is a drag on the server resources of that second server that is actually the host of your site but not the host of the video feed. Is this correct? Plz help Im grabin at straws here tryin to figure this thing out

Thanks,

Jim
