I am working on my friends web page for their vet clinic and I am currently making a section for people to submit their photos of their pets. I wanted the sections to display photos as thumbnails with some small info under the thumbnail itself and when the thumbnail is clicked have the image open up in a new window, the same size as the photo. I kind of like this thumbnail viewing setup here...

Would appreciate any feedback on my best way to do this. My original thought was to have an online form for people to submit and attach photo of their pet and have the fields... Client Name, Pet Name etc but I am just looking for the easiest possible solution to provide the best effect.'
thanks in advance

Welcome aboard captainron! The on-page thumbnailing is recently discussed in html and browsers [webmasterworld.com].
For the actual uploading, you are going to want some form of graphics control as most users are clueless about resizing pictures prior to upload. Additionally, you are going to want a way of creating the thumbnail.
The two most common ways of automating this process are with the GD image library or ImageMagick. Either can be interfaced with just about any dynamic scripting language, such as PHP, perl, or ASP.
