Hi tspan

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com] :)

I don't use Corel, but the process of fades are fairly standardised across most image manipulating software.

I'd typically use Fireworks to do as I like the way it handles transparent shades:

  • Open image
  • Draw box to cover image
  • Fill box with gradient
  • choose the same colour for both ends of gradient
  • Make one end transparent
  • Tinker with the gradient direction and length till you have a satisfactory blend

    In Photoshop:

  • Open Image
  • Create new layer
  • Select entire image area
  • Choose the gradient tool and edit the transparency swatch to suit your fill
  • Apply gradient tool to new layer until effect is achieved
  • Global Options:
