I still have not been able to find a definitive answer regarding this. What to do in this scenario :
Company/Brand website which has a company/brand G+ page under my personal G+ account.
I have already implemented the rel=publisher and linked to the G+ company/brand page for all pages of the company/brand website.
Now, it is my understanding that publisher simply says you are the publisher of the content. I also would like to take credit as author for these pages.
- Is it correct to also add the rel=author for ALL pages of the company/brand site? I actually tried this and tested with rich snippets tool and it provided the correct information, the G+ business page was shown as both publisher and author. Interestingly enough the twitter account was also listed as an author. Problems?
- Should every page be linked, only articles, etc? This particular site is a product site so there really aren't articles just product information and what have you. Is the goal of this only for articles?
While I understand I can link my PERSONAL account as the author for these pages I would hope some people out there understand why I would like it to be the company/brand page instead... having the company/brand take credit rather than an individual. Of course, should I ever use someone elses article/content/etc I would link to their author profile, however, in this scenario I would like my company/brand page to take credit for the work.
Can someone please clear this up... I have read conflicting reports where you only need the publisher and others where you should not use a company/brand G+ page as the author, but rather only a personal profile. If this is the case I have to ask why... it makes sense for a company to take credit as authorship as well rather than an individual.
