Using Google Sites as a CDN
Google CDN

Working on some of my site's speed issues. Using the Yslow plugin for firefox.

I have a CMS based forum. I've been pondering using a CDN (content delivery network) for some of the images in the site's theme.

Today I thought of moving the site's theme images over to a google site (sites.google.com) and then reference the files from there. Surely Google is going to serve them faster and more efficiently than my current VPS server.

One obvious speed gain is to spread the files across a few domains (my domain and goog's). Another would be that Google probably hosts the files in multiple locations around the world too, in effect a free CDN for 250 MB.

Any thoughts?
