Would You Use GoDaddy Google Sitemap Generate Tool?
I have a great html sitemap, will the xhtml one hurt?

Have a dense and complete sitemap for users with all pages links and descriptions. (Itself ranks high since titled a "Guide to ....".)

Moved to GoDaddy hosting and is option for creating sitemap to forward to Google and appears to generate it all in an xhtml format, etc.

Will this hurt me in any way? My html sitemap works well and my page is very highly ranked (1-4 natural serps position) for my most competitive search phrases. Don't want to mess anything up!

Thanks, more experienced colleagues!

I have been with godaddy services for long but never required the sitemap generator tool as google provides the same and lot other tools for that instance.

You might want to use Godaddy site audit tool. It is quite a good utility to measure your site's SEO implementation.

There really is no need for a sitemap unless you just have a huge site with lots of new content added every day. The sitemap has zero to do with SEO. The only reason you might need one other than that is if you have pages not in Google. After you get all your pages in Google there is no point any more.
