i think your syntax is incorrect ... but can you view the pages on your site?
but this not may be your problem, are you listed in google? or other search engines?

Yes.. I have been well indexed on yahoo and msn.
All pages are live and linked well to each other

sorry not to have got back to you,
if pages are indexed in yahoo/msn then your problems are nothing to do with htaccess
have you got inbound links from other sites, this could be your problem (for google)
it is upsetting to have so little traffic, how many pages are indexed in google? just the homepage, i was unsure from what you said.

Ok gr8.. Thnx a lot for getting back.. Now that we are sure that it is not the htaccess..
Lets look more deeper now.. google bot comes nearly every 2 days not and creates some hits as i'm updating pages daily.
But, as i said earlier, if i type allinurl:http://www.mysite.com then it shows only one result, and thats the homepage.
site:http://www.mysite.com shows me the main page and 6 old pages which do not exist now..
I guess backlinks is the problem! What do ya guyz think?

just to be sure, you have more than the home page indexed in msn and yahoo right?

oh and how old are the old pages?
i'd suggest as a start using a permanent redirect from those old pages to the new ones (any new ones) if you're in the index with those pages, it would be a shame to lose them, i think the new ones (the redirects at least) will show up very soon.

thnx tops.. i really appreciate your time on answering this one..
Jus want to make it clear on my mind..
Answers to your questions..
1. Yes they are showing up in Y and M.
2. I removed them 3 months back when i started working on the site seriously.
Help me out :(

ok, if i was you i would use htaccess to do a permanent redirect from each page you deleteed 3 months ago and that still shows in the google cache, to a new page in your site ... doesn't really matter which as it will (probably) get reindexed.
more than that is a waiting game, try to get some inbounds, the others seem to index you without inbounds (well you need one so they can find you)
