Google search direct
directly querying Google

Among other things on my website front page, I have a text field and a "Search" button (adjacent to the text field). When a user enters a search term in the text field and clicks the "Search" button, I'd like to simply forward them to

[google.com...]

Is it fine to do so directly?

I do not want to use

1. The Google Web Search API or
2. The copy-and-paste code with the Google logo (which has the radio button option of searching my own site)

TIA,
ew
